WhatsApp has finally caught up with the competition by increasing the file size restriction. Files up to 2GB in size can now be shared.
WhatsApp also plans to broaden the spectrum of emoji message reactions beyond Thanks to Sad, Surprised, Like, Laugh, and Love, to include all emojis and skin tones.
Emoji message reactions are now available in WhatsApp groups.
WhatsApp is also increasing the number of individuals who can participate in group video chats from 16 to 32 with the addition of a dedicated button.
Group Admins can now delete messages sent by any member for all users.
Communities, a new feature that will make managing several connected groups easier, is WhatsApp’s big announcement.
“This way, people can easily establish smaller discussion groups on topics that interest them and receive updates from the larger community,” WhatsApp says.
WhatsApp says, “Communities will also have significant new admin features, such as announcement messages distributed to everyone and control over which groups can be included.”
WhatsApp did not specify a precise date for when these features will be accessible, but Beta users will be the first to utilize them before they are made available to the general public, as is normal.
